Tzintzuntzan

Project Background

Tzintzuntzan is an upscale Mexican brunchería, lonchería, café y panadería in Austin. The concept brings together regional breakfast and lunch dishes, house-made pan dulce, ice cream, and thoughtfully crafted beverages within a richly designed indoor-outdoor space.

This project was part of a larger creative collaboration led by strategy and design consultancy Overstory, with Julie Savasky leading the visual direction and overall brand experience.

The Process

This team arrived at the project with a strong and clearly-defined design vision. I stepped in to help the team translate that direction into a website that felt as intentional and cohesive as the physical space itself.

I focused on building a structure that made it easy for guests to find what they needed while preserving the richness and personality of the brand. The goal was not to add noise, but to support what was already there: thoughtful design, a clear point of view, easy-to-access information, and a sense of place.

The Result

Tzintzuntzan comes from the same owner as Fonda San Miguel, a longstanding Austin restaurant known for its deep commitment to regional Mexican cuisine, and this new concept builds on that foundation while carving out its own direction.

Working alongside a team with a clear and thoughtful vision made it easy to build something cohesive and intentional; my role was to carry that through in a way that was functional, intuitive, and reliable day-to-day.

The Tzintzuntzan website is straightforward and easy to navigate, giving guests quick access to menus, hours, and reservations, while reflecting the tone of the space. It also gives the team a solid, simple-to-manage foundation they can continue to use as the restaurant grows.
