Clearing the Weight of the Past

How I helped Lighten the Load

Some projects aren’t about bold campaigns or historic renovations. Some are about clearing the weight of what’s been avoided for too long.

When this client came to me, she was carrying years of unresolved paperwork, reminders of a marriage and business that had both ended. The stack had grown taller as life moved on, a physical representation of everything she couldn’t bring herself to face. She didn’t need strategy or spreadsheets; she needed someone to sit beside her and make the overwhelming feel doable.

Over a two-day retreat, we tackled every last document. Together, we sorted, prioritized, and made a plan. Some items needed action, some could be let go, and some just needed acknowledgment before being filed away for good. I helped her break the cycle of avoidance, giving her structure, support, and a teammate in the process.

She walked in carrying the weight of the world. She walked out literally dancing.

Not every project has a big, flashy deliverable. Sometimes, the result is clarity, peace of mind, and the freedom to move forward.
